Hello, my name is Dana Curry Jr., and my passion for building began at a young age. My grandfather, a mechanical engineer, introduced me to my first erector set, sparking my love for construction. From there, my journey evolved, and at 18, in 2016, I started my career in construction working with my family as a carpenter's helper at BWI Airport, installing expansion joints, dog bathroom, and more.
In 2017, I attended trade school for building construction and graduated in 2018. I then joined a residential remodeling company specializing in kitchens and baths, where I found great fulfillment working directly with customers to improve their homes' comfort and value—knowing that the work I did would last for decades.
In 2019, I took the leap and started my own residential remodeling business. I quickly learned that establishing trust with customers sometimes required starting out as a “handyman” to showcase my craftsmanship. Some customers preferred hiring contractors for each specific trade, while others valued a more comprehensive service. I focused on providing high-quality work and building long-lasting relationships with clients, always prioritizing both customer satisfaction and the quality of my work.
That same year, at 21, I built my own two-story tiny home from the ground up on my family’s land in Savage, MD, with my brother-in-law and a helper.
My family has deep roots in Savage, MD, dating back to the mid-1800s. We live on 5.5 acres of family property, and we also have a family cemetery in Laurel, MD, off Whiskey Bottom Road.
In 2022, I partnered with Built To Last, a veteran-owned remodeling company based in Virginia. Together, we strategically focused on growing the company and building a loyal customer base, specializing in bathroom and basement remodeling.
